Terms of Use

Welcome to Ascend. These Terms of Use ("Terms" or "Agreement") govern your access to and use of the Ascend website, web application, mobile application, and related services (collectively, the "Service") operated by Ascend ("Ascend," "we," "us," or "our").
By creating an account, subscribing to a paid plan, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree with these Terms, please do not use the Service.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years of age (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction to enter into a binding contract) to use the Service. If you are under 18, you represent that your parent or legal guardian has reviewed and agreed to these Terms on your behalf.
You must provide accurate and complete information when creating your account and keep that information current.
2. Your Account
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account.
You agree to:
- Provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration
- Keep your account credentials secure and confidential
- Notify us promptly of any unauthorized use of your account
- Be responsible for all content and data submitted under your account
Ascend is a personal journaling and tracking tool. Your trading data, habits, goals, and journal entries are private to your account unless you explicitly choose to share them through social or friends features.
3. Subscriptions and Billing
Ascend offers a Premium subscription with the following plans:
- Monthly: $9.99 per month
- Annual: $99.99 per year
- Lifetime: $249.99 one-time payment
3.1 Auto-Renewal
Monthly and Annual subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing cycle unless auto-renewal is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period
- You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings, the App Store, or the platform where the purchase was made
- Cancellation prevents future charges but does not refund the current billing period
3.2 Lifetime Plan
The Lifetime plan is a one-time payment that grants Premium access for the lifetime of the Service. It does not renew and is not subject to recurring billing.
3.3 App Store and Platform Purchases
If you subscribe through the Apple App Store, Google Play, or another third-party platform, the platform's terms and billing policies apply to that purchase. Subscription management and cancellation for platform-based purchases must be handled through that platform's settings.
3.4 Price Changes
We reserve the right to change subscription prices. Any price changes will be communicated in advance. Price changes take effect at the start of your next billing cycle after the change is announced. If you do not agree with the new price, you may cancel before the renewal date.
3.5 Refunds
Refunds are governed by our Refund Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.
4. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law
- Submit content that is false, misleading, infringing, or harmful
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service, other accounts, or systems
- Interfere with or disrupt the Service, servers, or networks connected to the Service
- Use bots, scrapers, or automated tools to access the Service without our permission
- Share your account credentials or resell access to the Service
- Harass, abuse, or threaten other users through social or friends features
- Upload viruses, malware, or other malicious code
Ascend reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these acceptable use guidelines.
5. User Content
You retain ownership of all content you submit to the Service, including trade logs, journal entries, habits, goals, notes, and profile information ("User Content").
You grant Ascend a limited license to use, store, and process your User Content solely to provide and operate the Service for you.
You are solely responsible for your User Content and its accuracy. Ascend does not verify or endorse User Content.
6. Intellectual Property
The Service, including its design, features, logos, text, graphics, and software, is owned by Ascend and protected by intellectual property laws.
You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from the Service without our prior written consent.
7. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied.
Ascend is a journaling and tracking tool. It does not provide financial, investment, or trading advice. Any analytics, insights, or AI-generated content provided through the Service is for informational and self-reflection purposes only and should not be relied upon as financial advice.
You acknowledge that trading involves significant risk of loss and that you are solely responsible for your trading decisions and outcomes.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Ascend and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, arising from your use of or inability to use the Service.
Ascend's total liability for any claim arising from these Terms or the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid to Ascend in the 12 months preceding the claim.
9. Termination
You may delete your account at any time through the Account Management page.
Ascend may suspend or terminate your account or access to the Service if you violate these Terms or for any other reason at our discretion.
Upon termination, your right to use the Service ends. Your data may be permanently deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
10. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated Terms on this page with a revised "Last Updated" date.
Your continued use of the Service after changes become effective means you agree to the updated Terms. If you do not agree, you should stop using the Service and cancel any active subscription.
11. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Ascend operates, without regard to conflict of law principles.
Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Service shall be resolved through binding arbitration or in the appropriate courts of that jurisdiction.
